Utility-Scale Solar Farm

100 MW Solar Farm is Bahrain’s first utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) project on a landfill site. This will be the first solar PV IPP development, with the aim of generating at least 100 MW of power from a solar PV farm and for the procurement of the IPP to reach PPA signature by December 2018.

EWA invites applicants to propose a concept for the implementation of Bahrain’s first utility-scale PV Project on a landfill site. The Project, planned to be located on the Askar landfill site in the Southern Governorate, shall include site remediation measures to render the site suitable for PV development.
